Yes, we mine the bluestone we sell. Our quarrying operation has been family-owned and operated for four generations, beginning when our great-grandfather opened the first quarry on the mountain behind our family's original farm in Cannonsville, New York

Yes, we offer delivery services for both small and large orders. Delivery fees may apply depending on the distance and size of the order.

No, authentic bluestone is only found within a 90-mile radius of Deposit, New York—nowhere else in the world. This rare geological formation, created over 350 million years ago during the Devonian period, exists exclusively in this region spanning parts of New York and Pennsylvania. What makes our bluestone truly unique is its limited geographic occurrence, which is why Pennsylvania bluestone (named for the broader region) remains one of the most sought-after natural stones for quality hardscaping and architectural applications. When you choose bluestone from our quarries, you're getting stone that literally cannot be sourced anywhere else on Earth

Yes, we offer much more than bluestone. Our company offers:

  • Granite Belgian block
  • Limestone cutting stock
  • Limestone treads
  • Limestone veneer
  • Granite steps
  • Granite pavers

While bluestone remains our specialty and heritage, we've expanded our inventory to provide a complete range of natural stone products for all your hardscaping and architectural needs.

We offer a comprehensive range of finishes to suit any design aesthetic and functional requirement:

Surface Finishes:

Natural Cleft - The stone’s naturally split surface with authentic texture and superior slip resistance. Perfect for rustic, traditional designs and outdoor applications.

Thermal (Flamed) - High-heat treatment creates a lightly textured, non-slip surface with contemporary appeal. Ideal for pool decks, patios, and high-traffic areas requiring safety and refined aesthetics.

Honed - Smooth, matte surface achieved through grinding. Sophisticated appearance without gloss, typically used for interior applications like countertops and flooring.

Polished - High-gloss, reflective finish that showcases the stone’s deepest colors and veining. Luxurious option for interior feature walls, countertops, and decorative elements.

Edge Finishes:

Sawn Edge - Clean, straight cut for precision and modern lines.

Thermal Edge - Heat-treated edges with subtle texture that complements thermal tops.

Hand Rocked Edge - Traditional chiseled texture for Old World, rustic character.

Bullnose Edge - Smooth, rounded profile for safety, comfort, and elegant detailing.

Chamfered Edge - 45-degree bevel that prevents chipping and adds architectural definition.

Natural Edge - Irregular, organic edges for authentic, rustic appeal.

Mix and match surface and edge finishes to create the perfect look for your project.

Bluestone weighs approximately 14 pounds per square foot per inch of thickness. This standard calculation helps with accurate project planning, structural load considerations, and delivery logistics.

Weight Examples:

  • 1" thick bluestone = 14 lbs per sq ft
  • 1-1/2" thick bluestone = 21 lbs per sq ft
  • 2" thick bluestone = 28 lbs per sq ft
  • 3" thick bluestone = 42 lbs per sq ft

Understanding material weight is essential for:

  • Structural engineering and load-bearing calculations
  • Equipment selection for handling and installation
  • Delivery truck capacity planning
  • Labor and manpower requirements
  • Foundation and base preparation

Our team can help calculate total project weight and coordinate appropriate delivery equipment for your specific order.
